We are back in the summer mode as far as roasting veggies for dinner. Tonight we have a nice spread from the garden: radishes, cubanelle and banana peppers, carrots, zucchini and squash.
We lightly sprinkle olive oil over them and then use our rosemary, sage and thyme finishing salt. Bake at 400 for 30 minutes. Tastes great and certainly healthier than what you buy in the store.
Definitely a garden to table kind of meal.

First harvest of the year!
We were up early to take advantage of the cooler temperatures (low 70's :) and we picked a variety of vegetables.
As the picture shows, we picked a sweet banana pepper, cubanelle peppers, red lunchbox peppers, radishes, carrots, zucchinis and cucumbers.
We are already making plans for dinner. We'll roast the peppers with our rosemary, thyme and sage finishing salt and the cucumbers and radishes will make a wonderful fresh salad.
Let us know what you think.

Memorial Day on the Square in Monticello
Another great day at the Market on the Square in Monticello!
We sold quite a few of these seasoning salts and also our new favorite Cherry Pie Jam.
We'll be back next week too. Also, even though today was not a day to pick and tend to the garden, tomorrow will be. From the preliminary looks, we'll be picking our first vegetables of the season.

Kiwis are abundant and growing
Here's an early look at our kiwi. They made it through the early Spring with no unexpected frost or cold weather. We picked 400 last year and from what we can see, the harvest looks to be another bumper crop.
Of course, we won't pick these till November but it's good to see them in abundance and growing.

Herbs and corn
Here are a few pictures of some of the herbs and vegetables we are currently growing. Everything from lavender, dill for the garlic-dill pickles, to the corn which will be ready to pick the end of June. Fresh corn, corn cob jelly and corn chowder!
Also, feel free to comment or ask questions about what we post.
