Decorative Coasters

What do we do during the Winter Months? Prepare new planting beds, order seeds for the upcoming season. But, because we love to keep our hands busy we made these for an upcoming Tractor Show in South Georgia. These are drink coasters in sets of six. Excited to share these with our friends and family in South Georgia, but also wanted to share these with our friends from our summer Forsyth and Monticello farmers markets. These handmade decorative coasters on sale at $10 for a pack of 6.

Stay busy, stay warm!

Winter is here

Winter is surely upon us at BYGC forcing us inside with subfreezing temperatures and wind chills in the teens. However, we turned that adversity into a positive seed starting and transplanting opportunity.

We planted Basil seeds, Tomato seeds and rooted Rosemary plants and put them under the Grow Light. In a few weeks, we'll move them to bigger pots and the cycle repeats itself over and over.

It's Kiwi time

The Kiwis are ripening so we know it's time to make our delicious Kiwi Jam. We have been sold out since last May due to a poor kiwi crop in 2020. However, this year we picked over 200 kiwis. Our supply is fully stocked and ready for you Kiwi lovers.

Turnips and other greens

It seems as if we've transitioned from nice warm weather to the 30's and 50's. Not the optimum conditions for plants we have been nurturing since April but fine for the collards, broccoli, mustard and turnips. We love walking through the Backyard Garden and harvesting what's ready to eat, like the turnips below.

Backyard Garden Creations is also going strong with holiday gift giving. Let us know if we can help you with that unique Christmas gift. We are here for you!

Picking before the first frost

Saturday was harvest time before the first frost of the season arrived. We picked a half bushel of kiwi and all varieties of peppers. We also move our bucket peppers which are still producing, into the greenhouse.

Check out the pictures below.

The end of market season

Market season ended this past Saturday with the Deer Festival in Monticello. While the weather was chilly, the customers turned out in droves. It was wonderful to see everyone who came to stock up for the winter months.  Many thanks to our Monticello Friends and especially Mandy and Brandi who did a great job organizing 3000 visitors

Of course, the end of market season brings the beginning of our Holiday season. Our jams and jellies are great for stocking stuffers and gifts for neighbors and friends.

Check out what's available and email me if we can help you stuff the stockings or feed your guests!
